I finally played XBOX 360 tonight

Oh yeah, and T.A. and I were guests on the The Chris Pirillo Show. It was Webcast live earlier this evening, and should be available for download via the site and as a podcast from iTunes in the next week or so. We talked about how HelpShare is a smarter way to get answers. Specifically, I put out a call for feedback on the HelpShare API.

It was also fun to see Pirillo world Headquarters including:

* A shockingly complete set of darth vader action figures.
* Some very high fiber o's
* A stack of tantalizingly unopened XBOX 360s.

Visual Studio VSCache Problem

I have been fighting this issue off an on for a couple of days. One of my web projects suddenly stopped loading. Visual Studio would only give me "Unable to get the project file from the web server." I found the answer this morning - delete the contents of the VSCache directory - from Shane in Milton Keynes.

All Things Web 2.0 - "THE LIST"

Sacred Cow Dung: All Things Web 2.0 - "THE LIST" Wow. I discovered this post by Christian Mayaud and Bob Stumpel via Scobleizer. It appears to be a pretty thorough round up of current "Web 2.0" companies and applications. I'd like to import this into Lookmarks (which made the list incidentally), but it may too many to tag, even with the bulk import!

Oh, and since we're on the topic, there is also a site dedicated to the logos of these new applications.

Seattle Bloggers Meetup

I attended a meetup of Seattle Bloggers on Wednesday night. Anita Rowland was the organizer. I should have attended one of these long ago, I really enjoyed geeking out with like minded people.

Jake interviewed me for a pod cast he is working on. I will link to it here when he posts it.

Some of the things we talked about were:

Here's a live Lookmark list of Seattle Bloggers, starting with those that attended.

Seattle Tech Companies

Chris Pirillo compiled a great list of list of Seattle tech companies last week. I'd like to extend this list and add to it as I (or anyone) discovers more companies. So, I have started filing the links on Lookmarks using the tag "Seattle Tech Company".

Here are the most recent additions from my extended list:

powered by Lookmarks

Here is how I created the list you see in this blog post:

1. Import Links from Chris's Post using the Lookmarks bulk import tool.

a. Tag and save links with "seattle tech company"

2. Do a Lookmarks search for "seattle tech company"

3. Visit each link to fill in the description field

a. Open link in a new tab
b. Select some descriptive text
c. Cut the text to the clipboard
d. Go back to Lookmarks
e. Click the pencil icon to edit the link details
f. Paste the description text
g. Click save.

3. Click "Sort by date" so the most recent links are at the top of the list.

4. Click [JS] button (upper right corner of page) to generate javascript that can be inserted in a blog post.

Adding companies to the list is as simple as Lookmarking them using the Lookmarks bookmarklet.

ETech Odds and Sodds

O'Reilly Radar > Entrepreneurial Proverbs: "I gave a talk at ETech on Monday called 'Entrepreneuring for Geeks.' I've given this general talk a few times now -- how can the more technically minded among us move into making companies of our own?"

More great stuff today that I haven't had the chance to digest:

Newsvine - TechCrunch Says Newsvine is Perfect

Newsvine is a social news site, you can vote on articles to rank them higher, or contribute your own content. The site has a great set of features, but I am not addicted yet. Also, I'm blogging it here because it is a Seattle company.
